LOCAL  RESTAURANT OWNER HOSTS THANKSGIVING FOR CHARLOTTE AREA LATINO RESIDENTS

Charlotte, NC-(Nov. 26, 2002)-`Don Pedro' Mexican restaurant on Independence Blvd. will open its doors on Thanksgiving evening to host a special holiday event for the area's Latino population.

Pedro Santillan, co-owner of `Don Pedro' and the `Azteca' family Mexican restaurants in Charlotte, Matthews and Gastonia says he wanted to provide a fun evening for people who otherwise might not have anywhere to enjoy the holiday. “ I really wanted to do this for the Latino people here because many of them do not have families to spend the day with and most will not have to work that day,” says Santillan. He expects three hundred people to gather for an evening of food and special entertainment.

Santillan says he is bringing in a comedian from Mexico and there will also be performances by a local Mariachi band and Latino comic.
The show begins at 5:00 PM, Thursday, November 28.

`Don Pedro' Mexican restaurant and the adjacent nightclub are located in the former Comedy Zone site at 5317 E. Independence Blvd.
