NEW LAKE GUIDE BEGINS PUBLICATION

Piedmont Lakes Pilot, the glossy, new four-color lake magazine, has begun publication.

Mike Aldridge and Bob McGrath, the magazine's publishers, said the bi-monthly is a marine-service and lakeside-living guide focusing on the seven major lakes of the southern Piedmont region.

“We will cover stories on lakes Hickory, Norman, Mountain Island and Wylie on the Catawba River chain and High Rock, Badin and Tillery on the Yadkin-Pee Dee,” said Aldridge. “We'll also try to include a wide variety of lake activities, including sailing, power-boating, fishing, lake management, lake real estate and lifestyles of people who enjoy the water.”

Piedmont Lakes Pilot is a guide for people using the lakes, publishing lake maps and a service index of marine businesses in each issue. There are also sailing schedules, guides to lakefront and lake-access communities and restaurants, as well as fishing forecasts and tournament schedules.

“There have been other, similar guides in the past, but none so comprehensive with such a tight focus,” said McGrath. “We want to be a comprehensive source of information about the lakes of the region.”

All information will be continually updated, so the guide will be as accurate as possible. “Our readers will have fresh articles and up-to-date listings about marinas, boat sales and repair, and anything else they need to know about to enjoy the lakes,” said Aldridge. “The format and content are such that people tend to keep it around as a reference. Even our articles tend to be information-oriented because the magazine is a `keeper'.”

The magazine is available on a complimentary basis from boat dealers, marinas, restaurants and other business all around the lakes of the region. To find a location near you, call Piedmont Lakes Pilot at 704.567.2375 or visit www.pilotmedia.cc.
